Still Life

The hand-painted illustration on this wall hanging is inspired by poppies in our courtyard. The flowers are dyed in soft shades of green and the stone vase with a smiling sun is dyed in deep brown. These colours were intuitively chosen after being inspired by the many nigella pods growing in our garden. I loved their delicate shades and natural beauty, which inspired me to explore these soft tones and bring the essence of the pods into this wall hanging. My favourite part of finishing a piece is adding embroidery, bringing texture and subtle detail.
