Verdure Quilt

Hand-painted and naturally dyed quilt in nature’s colour palette.

For me, this quilt tells the story of the earth and the sky. It is about new growth, blooming wild flowers and swallows flyeing high in the sky. It was a wonderful exploration of green, blue and golden shades that over the weeks emerged from my natural dye baths. These colours reflect the mossy green of the forest floor, the subtle green of new shoots, and the golden light of the morning sky. With the hand painted botanical illustrations I tried to capture the quiet joy of nature awakening after winter. Bringing all together with the embroidery of a dragonfly and floral accents.
